Who We Serve…

Hammer & Nails mission is to serve disadvantaged Stark County homeowners with home and property repairs.
All homeowner applicants must own and reside in the home and be considered as disadvantaged (may include, but not limited to: elderly, single parent, mentally/physically challenged or financially burdened) in the ability to complete necessary home repairs. Determination of eligibility is done through an in-home interview process with assessment of repair needs and willingness to partner with the Hammer & Nails staff and volunteers. Applicants and family members who are physically able are required to assist on projects.
All homeowner selections are case by case and determined by the selection committee. Projects are scheduled upon availability of volunteers, skill needed and resources available.

Who Volunteers…

Hammer & Nails works to accommodate volunteers of all ages and skill levels. From a 3 year old homeowner helping scrub and paint walls, a kindergarten class planting flowers or collecting change to buy materials, the high school football team painting a house, college students passing out information and balloons at the fair or helping facilitate the annual golf outing fundraiser, the retired teacher filing papers and updating the mailing list, to a construction team of handymen building a wheel chair ramp….there’s something for everyone!

General Support

Hammer & Nails relies solely on the generosity of the community for it's operational support. The undesignated funds keep the lights on and gas in the trucks to allow the skeleton staff to keep going and give opportunities for volunteers to make such a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
