Volunteer Mission Statement

Volunteers and donations, both in-kind and monetary, are needed and greatly appreciated.

Hammer & Nails, Inc. a nonprofit ecumenical Christian outreach ministry based in Canton, Ohio, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for disadvantaged area homeowners through home and property improvements.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

Stemmed from a temporary outreach ministry in 1993, at North Industry Christian Church called Rolling Valley Workcamp (RVWC). We then incorporated into an independent, non-profit organization in 2000, operating full–time since January 2002, we rely on the generosity of the community and foundation grants.

Volunteer Statistics

We serve families who meet the low to moderate-income levels for our community. Homeowners must apply and meet the criteria of need and are required to help with repairs when physically able. Through our “Be a Greater Blessing” program, homeowners are encouraged to make donations back to the ministry to help others.

We have assisted over 1600 area homeowners. And in 2016 specifically, we helped 40 homeowners with 93 projects, using 1553 volunteers and donating over 7454 hours of their time. (A labor value of $149,080.00 at an average of $20.00/hr.)

Volunteer Opportunities

We provide volunteer opportunities for youth and adults; both skilled and unskilled. We have numerous applicants awaiting our assistance!
