Fixing Homes, Changing Lives

Neighbors Serving Neighbors

Volunteers are the backbone, heart, and soul of Hammer and Nails.

Make a lasting impact on your community by donating your labor to fix homes and change lives. Be the hands and feet of our homeowners and help those who need it most, for no one has made it through life without someone else’s help. Let’s build hope together in Stark County, one homeowner project at a time.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

Stemmed from a temporary outreach ministry in 1993, at North Industry Christian Church called Rolling Valley Workcamp (RVWC). We then incorporated into an independent, non-profit organization in 2000, operating full–time since January 2002, we rely on the generosity of the community and foundation grants.

Volunteer Highlight

Malone University recently partnered with us to install a wheelchair ramp for Ron, an 85-year-old homeowner who expressed the need for a ramp so that he could better care for his wife who suffers from dementia. The first thing he said he wants to do with this ramp is take his wife to get her hair done. Stories like this are the reason we do what we do at Hammer & Nails, and we couldn’t do it without the work of our volunteers. Thank you, Malone!

At Hammer & Nails, we serve families who meet the low to moderate-income levels for our community.

With the help of our volunteers, we have assisted over 2,000 area homeowners. In 2019, we helped 39 homeowners using 156 volunteers who donated over 2,835 hours of their time. Our projects for the 2019 year totaled $140,013.79, but the actual project cost to Hammer & Nails was only $90,968.79! We are so grateful for our volunteers and the ways in which they have chosen to donate money, time, and labor to serve the local Stark County community.
